Maria J. Posey
Maria J. Posey is CEO and Founder of Viking Impact Advisors. She sets the firm's strategy, leads business development and operations, and oversees the quality of every engagement, whether she leads the work herself or it is delivered by one of Viking's affiliates. She founded the firm in June 2024 to help workforce boards, nonprofits, and public agencies get from where they are today to where they want to go. Its name is an homage to her Swedish heritage.
Before founding Viking, Maria was Managing Director at Third Sector Capital Partners, a nonprofit consulting firm that advises government agencies on transforming programs, contracts, data, partnerships, and policy to better serve their communities. There she led the partnership and project development team and served as Senior Director on client projects in economic mobility.
Maria is Adjunct Faculty at the Center for Public and Nonprofit Leadership at Georgetown University's McCourt School of Public Policy, where she teaches social impact evaluation, and is Vice Chair of the Fairfax County Human Services Council. She holds an M.A. in Peace and Conflict Research from Uppsala University and a B.A. in International Relations and Political Science from Wellesley College.
